Your data is stored on the server, scoped to your account only. Reference codes in each statement line prevent duplicate imports across overlapping date ranges. Categorizing one transaction from a merchant applies it to that merchant's other uncategorized transactions too, and is remembered for future imports. Filing a refund under an expense category (instead of an income one) nets it against that category rather than counting it as income.
